Membership

Active Membership
All former or retired employees who have worked in an educational institution and spouses, plus those with five years of retiring, are eligible for membership in the Retired Educators Association of Massachusetts. The privilege of voting and holding office shall be limited to those having the status of Active Membership. The dues for these members shall be $25.00 a year and all membership renewals become due October 1 of a given year for all Chapters with the exception of Suffolk County, which becomes due on May 1 and is $23.00 per year.

Associate Membership
Anyone who is more than 5 years from retiring plus those interested in education and who promote the objectives of REAM are eligible for associate membership. Associate members shall have all the rights and privileges except the right to vote or hold office in the Association. The dues for these members shall be $25.00 a year and all membership renewals become due yearly at the time of active membership renewal.

Nonagenarians
Nonagenerians are honorary members of the Associaiation and pay no dues.

You may email the state office or you can get a membership application online. Make a copy of the application (make sure you fill in the right one, active or associate) and mail it in to us.
